Tournament Format
- There are 5 teams: A, B, C, D, and E. Each team consists of 7 players and the players are ranked from 1 to 7.
-
There is one pool and in the qualifying round:
- Each team will play the other 4 teams once.
- The 2 teams with the best results will go to the final.
- Results of each match up will be decided by the games won. The winning team will be awarded Two Match Points, while the losing team has Zero Match Points. If the games won are tied at 5-5, a drawn match is declared and each team will be awarded One Match Point.
- At the end of the qualifying round, if there is a tie in Match Points for teams ‘qualifying’ for the Final, the finalists will be decided firstly by the number of games won. If that is tied, the deciding factor will go down to the Net Points Won/Lost. If teams are still not separable after that, Points Won, and last but not least Points Lost will be used to decide the final placing of each team.
- If this still results in a tie between 2 teams after all that elimination process, the team which won their head-to-head match during the qualifying round will be placed higher.
- In the event that more than 2 teams are tied after all that elimination process, some other equitable means of deciding the finalists will be applied.
- The qualifying round draw is as below

- The top 2 teams will play in the final on 04/11/2011.
- In the event of dispute, the decision of the tournament organiser will be final.
Match Format
- Match to start at 8:45pm.
- In each match, the two teams will play 5 doubles. Each double will be 2 games to 21 points without setting.
- In the week that their teams play, the captain of each team must submit the 5 pairs which they will field by 11pm of the preceding Thursday via email to the tournament organiser (Hung Bui) at buih@tpg.com.au.
-
The pairings must meet the following requirements:
- Every player present must be in at least 1 pair.
- Any player present at the match must be fielded in a pair that will play. Even if a player turns up later and his name is not down to play, forfeiture may still apply.
- Any particular pair can only be fielded once per match.
- The number 1 ranked player can play in only 1 pair.
- Players ranked 6 and 7, when present, must play in at least 1 pair per match.
- The ranking of the pairs within a team will be determined by the total rank of the two players. When pairs total ranking points are tied, the pair with the stronger player is ranked higher.
- Submission of the 5 pairs will be accepted any time before 11pm of the preceding Thursday and will remain undisclosed to the opposing team until the match starts.
-
Forfeitures will be as follows:
- If 1 player is absent from one team, i.e. 6 players available, NO forfeiture;
- If 2 players (including top ranked player of team) are absent from one team, i.e.5 players available, NO forfeiture necessary
- If 2 players (excluding top ranked player of team) are absent from one team, i.e. 5 players available, only 1 doubles (2 games) needs to be forfeited.
- If 3 players (including top ranked player of team) are absent from one team, i.e. 4 players available, 1 doubles (2 games) are forfeited.
- If 3 players other than the top ranked player are missing, 2 doubles (4 games) will need to be forfeited.
- If 4 players are missing (including top ranked player of team), i.e 3 players available, only 2 doubles (4 games) are forfeited.
- If 4 players are missing (excluding top ranked player of team), i.e. 3 players available, 3 doubles (6 games) will be forfeited, since only 2 doubles can be fielded.
- If more than 4 payers are missing, match is forfeited in full.
- If both teams have players missing, the above will apply for both teams accordingly.
- The order of play will be in the following ranking sequence: 2, 4, 1, 5, 3.
- The result of a match will be determined by the number of games won. If that is drawn, then points won, and finally points lost.
